Bishop Wilton Church

St Edith’s Church is one of five parishes in the Garrowby Benefice. The Rector is the Revd Linda Munt.

There is a rota of services: each month there is an 8am Holy Communion, a 10.15 family service and an 11.15 Holy Communion. For dates please check the Parish Pump or see http://www.garrowbychurches.com/events.html

The Garrowby Churches Meditation Group meets once a month in St Edith’s at 7pm. Meetings last about 40 minutes with an introduction, time of silence and closing reflection. The chance to be still can be helpful and everyone is very welcome. Again, dates and details can be found in the Parish Pump and on the website.

St Edith’s is a Grade I listed building, one of the famous Sykes churches of the Yorkshire Wolds. It is open every day, thanks to the efforts of a team of volunteers. Usually the church is closed by the late afternoon or at dusk in winter. Volunteers also make sure the building is maintained, with regular cleaning and flower rotas. There is a wealth of information in the church itself and on the website: http://www.garrowbychurches.com/st-edith-bishopwilton.html

The church belongs to the whole community and everyone is welcome at services and events. We always appreciate offers of help and support, especially with cleaning, arranging flowers, and fundraising.
