Yapham Cricket Club use Bishop Wilton Playing Field for several of their games and coaching activities throughout the cricket season. They run 3 senior teams: the 1st team plays in York & District Senior League, the 2nd team in the York Vale League, and Yapham Women play in the Yorkshire Women & Girls’ Cricket League. There is a well-established Junior section with coaching and teams at all age groups from 7 to 15, and a fun ECB All Stars programme to introduce children aged 5-8 (and their parents/guardians) to cricket. The club has 11 ECB-qualified coaches and All Star Activators, and has been working with the Yorkshire Cricket Board over the past 6 years to develop Women and Girls’ Cricket in the area.
